Maira Milolidaki

SOPRANO

Graduate of the Athens Conservatory in classical singing, Onassis Foundation scholar, with studies in Italy with Renata Scotto (Opera Studio, Academy of St. Cecilia, Rome) and Maria Luisa Cioni (Milan). He studied theater at the Embros-Ergastiri Drama School and at the International Workshop “The Method of Theodoros Terzopoulos” at the Attis Theater.


She has collaborated with the National Theatre, the Greek National Opera, the Onassis Foundation Stegi, the Academy of St. Cecilia, the Teatro dal Verme (Milan), Carnegie Hall (New York), performing a wide repertoire that extends from the Baroque to modern classical composers, as well as main roles in operas by Rameau, Handel, Mozart, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Viardot, Bizet, such as Violetta (La Traviata), Madga (La Rondine), Gilda (Rigoletto), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Micaela (Carmen), Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Céphise (Pygmalion), La Fée (Cendrillon) and Morgana (Alcina). He has collaborated, among others, with the Orchestra of Colors, the Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra, the Camerata - Orchestra of Friends of Music, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra, the Athens Academica Orchestra, the New Greek Quartet, the Anima Quartet, the Melos Brass Quintet, the organist J. Geffert and the countertenor M. Chance, at festivals in Greece and abroad.


She is a member of the Canto Soave ensemble which specializes in Renaissance and Baroque vocal music through the repertoire for three female voices. Among her appearances with the ensemble, the participation in the Third Program's live recording series, the concert-tribute to Women Musicians in the Courts of 17th-Century Italy at the GNO Alternative Stage (2019), the concert-tribute to the history of bel canto from the 17th to the 19th centuries at the Olympia-Municipal Musical Theater "Maria Callas" (2019), as well as the performance-tribute to Hidelgard von Bingen "Splendidissima Gemma-Recomposing Hildegard", directed by Themelis Glynatsis and electronically composed by Constantine Skourlis, in March 2020 at the Athens Concert Hall, as part of the "Bridges" series. In the 2019/2020 period, her participation in N. Kornilios' film "I Sing If You Sing" stands out (in 2013 she collaborated with the director on the iconic film "Matriarchy") and her collaboration with the composer of the electro-acoustic scene Constantine Skourlis in performances such as "Don Quixote" (Res Ratio Network, directed by Efi Birba), "Richard II - Requiem of a King" (directed by Marlene Kaminsky) and "Free at Last" (choreographed by Danae Dimitriadis and Dionysios Alamanos, June 2019, Rotterdam and Athens and Epidaurus Festival 2021).

In 2021, she participated in the revival of Alexander Grek's opera "Androniki" with the musical ensembles of the Municipality of Athens under Nikos Athinios, at the Olympia Theater, performing the role of Diamanto.

Since 2008, he has frequently appeared in song recitals with pianist Titos Gouvelis, performing important works and song cycles by foreign and Greek composers.

He has an active presence in the discography: "The Mosaic of the Night" with music by George Kouroupou and poetry by Ioulita Iliopoulou (Donzelli), "Written" songs by Iosif Valette with poetry by Elena Kyritsi (Subways Records), "Vita Segreta, Musica Segreta" with the ensemble Canto Soave (FM Records), "Eternal Recurrence" composed by Constantine Skourlis (Bedouin Records), "Lullabies from Europe" (Acroasis records).

She teaches singing and speech education at the American College of Greece (Deree) and the F. Nakas Conservatory. She is a graduate of the Law School of the University of Athens and a doctorate from the Sorbonne University. In recent years, her texts have been published in the printed programs of the Athens Concert Hall and the Olympia Theater.


She first collaborated with the EUTOPIA group in 2016 and has been an official member since 2020. She has taken part in Giorgos Stefanakidis' performances "Pietà" (awards for Direction, Original Script and Best Actress at the Kiev International Theater Festival AndiyivskiFest, 2018 and Best Performance award at the Athens Suitcase Festival, Olvio 2019), "Free Besieged" (2018/2021) and "Shakespeare Electrified" (2022).
